B.J. Roberts Behavioral Health Center receives award

Hampton Roads Association for Commercial Real Estate's 29th Design Awards Program

Last night, members of the PMA Architecture team joined with their team and client at the Hampton Roads Association for Commercial Real Estate's annual Design Awards to celebrate commercial design projects across the area. The program recognizes and celebrates excellence in design and development in Hampton Roads, Virginia. Categories include Educational, Healthcare, Institutional/Public, Interiors, Landscape, Multi-Family/Commercial Housing, and more. Our team was honored to receive an Award of Merit - Best Renovated Historic Rehabilitation Project for our work on the B.J. ROBERTS BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CENTER in Hampton, VA.

This was a project of love and care, bestowing a second chance at life to a building so that it can function to give those who need it most a second chance at life. We were grateful to work with Sentera Health and the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board on the center. We took so much knowledge and passion from them for what they do and put it into the building's design and function. Ultimately, it created a much-needed, peaceful place to heal and recover, as well as a safe and welcoming place for staff.

You can read more on the B.J. Roberts Behavioral Health Center in the Projects section of our website. Congratulations to our team, photographer, client, contractors, and everyone who made this project exceptional. Also, a hearty congratulations to all those recognized last night. We enjoy seeing Hampton Roads flourish and loved seeing everyone's work to make it a better place to live and work.
