PMA Architecture Awarded the 2023 Gabriella Page Preservation Award

PMA Architecture, Stemann | Pease Architecture, Timmons Group, and the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) were recognized by Preservation Virginia for the cabin renovations at Douthat and Fairy Stone State Park. The cabins project was chosen as a recipient of the 2023 Gabriella Page Preservation Award for Outstanding Preservation Project.

“We are thrilled to be selected for this award,” said Jeff Stodghill, PMA Principal and President. “Great care was taken to preserve the historic character of these cabins and design appropriate new kitchens and baths which allowed more of the original features to be uncovered and expressed” This year’s preservation awardees will be recognized during the Preservation Virginia’s Annual Awards Ceremony held in Richmond, VA on September 29th.

PMA recently completed phase one of the cabins renovation and the DCR has reopened 29 cabins to the public. Renovations are ongoing during phase two of the project at Douthat and Fairy Stone State Parks and expected to be completed in early 2024.
