PMA Welcomes Architectural Designer Philip Miller

Philip first encountered PMA Principal Jeff Stodghill at a client meeting. “We hit if off right away,” says Philip, “I had spent several years working in Richmond after graduating and I was looking to grow my skills and opportunities. I later called Jeff and asked if he’d consider mentoring me.” Philip had spent some of his early years in Hampton Roads and maintains strong ties in the area. He started meeting with Jeff in PMA’s Hilton Village studio as they began working through various projects together. “Over time, I began taking on small projects for PMA to help extend their staff when things were busy,” he says. Before long, he was offered a role as part of PMA’s architectural design team. “I knew I needed someone to guide me through this journey,” he recalls, “I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with PMA and become a better architect.”

Philip brings many talents to the PMA team, including architectural design, graphic design and model making. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Urban & Regional Development from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master of Architecture from the University of Virginia where he twice earned an academic scholarship. He is currently providing architectural design support for a church renovation and for the design of a new senior living community. “I love variety in work - from designing it to building it,” he says.

Easy and engaging to talk to, Philip enjoys time with his growing family which includes his wife, two young children and a new baby. He is passionate about his work and thrives on connecting with people and community.
