PMA Adds Full-Time Marketing & Communications Specialist

    Welcome, Sara Moscoso!

Summer brought an extra ray of sunshine to PMA Architecture in 2022 in the form of Sara Moscoso– PMA Architecture’s new Marketing and Communications Specialist. “Adding this new full-time position will allow us to build a greater presence in our local community, online, and throughout our industry. Sara is a great fit for this new role. She brings a background in health care marketing – and we do a lot of health care design – as well as in working inside two national organizations. She also lives right here in Newport News and worked previously with the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce. Sara knows Hampton Roads and she’s grown to love this community since moving here several years ago,” says PMA’s Proposal Manager, Pam Scruggs. Sara also provides support for PMA’s finance and office manager alongside her marketing responsibilities.

"Sara jumped into a busy summer season already in full swing and didn’t bat an eye,” says Pam. She has already played an important role in preparing a design award submission, is providing much needed proposal support, and is hard at work re-energizing the firm’s commitment to participating in and sponsoring booths at three upcoming senior living and local government conferences. A Radford University graduate with a degree in Public Relations and Marketing, Sara looks forward to applying the skills learned in her collegiate studies and in her career to “a new industry and to having new opportunities to be creative in PMA’s hands-on environment.”

Since starting with PMA in July, Sara has had the opportunity to interact with many different co-workers – from the firm principals to architectural design interns to the office manager to the historic preservation specialist to the interiors team to the proposal manager - on a range of marketing projects. “It’s something different every day - exciting,” she says, “I don’t always do the same thing every day. I really enjoy the people at PMA and definitely feel like the people here care about each other.”

In her time outside the office, Sara enjoys playing guitar, running along the Nolan Trail and at Newport News Park (which, coincidentally, PMA founder Jack Stodghill, FAICP helped develop many years ago!) and spending time with her husband who serves in the Air Force.
